I said hey. What’s going on?

So I wake up in the morning and I step outside and I take a deep breath and I feel real… …COLD. Mmm, pre-dawn chill, how I loathe thee.

Hatpire’s fast approaching its 50th strip and I have to say, I’m pretty proud of it. I feel that I’ve advanced as an artist since I started the thing in June and that makes me feel very good about myself. Knowing people are reading and enjoying the comic makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside. :3 You guys are awesome readers.

Plans are still on the horizon to attend Anime Central May 8-10 in Rosemont, IL. It’s far off still, but ACen is my local con and it will be my first time as an artist in the Artist’s Alley. As such I’ve been looking into a lot of things for sale–I’ve got the cellphone straps in, and I’ve been taking a look at posters and a few other miscellany. The concept of merchandise amuses me more for the fact that I’ll get to see my characters on STUFF! more than the idea of making money. ACen is going to be a way for me to get the word on the comic out, first and foremost. Making back the cost of the table alone is ideal.

DrunkDuck is Down!

So, yeah. DrunkDuck is down and so I made a temporary picture for you guys (on the front page).

I have no idea when it is going to be back up and the folks that help with the site don’t know if this is due to them moving the server, or what. I decided not to do a comic today since I’d have no proper place to upload it, but never fear!

If DrunkDuck is not up by Wednesday, I’m going to put together a very rough interface for the comic and update from there. If it is up by then, I’m going to continue to use DrunkDuck’s site. As I know next to no PHP and I’ve had no luck with ComicPress, I really hope it doesn’t come down to that. Sigh.

Here’s hoping to a ressurection of the Duck. :(

Merchanwhat?

The rumor mill is churning, and it’s talking about cellphone charms and buttons. Check out today’s Hatpire for a sneak peak of the former. :)

In news unrelated to merchandise, I’ve finally got this page up and running, and I’ll try and keep it updated. The old HTML page was a pain, since I had to do everything manually. This should be a little easier.
